Identification of QTLs for cold tolerance at the booting and flowering stages in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده
Rice growth and productivity are greatly affected by cold stress, which is likely to become more of a hindrance for high stable rice yields. To identify tolerance at the booting flowering stages in rice, recombinant inbred line was developed crossing cold-tolerant japonica cultivated variety, Jileng1, with cold-sensitive indica Milyang23. The seed setting rate (SST) parents RIL population were investigated under different temperature environments, SST stress index natural low used evaluate quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping. Fifteen QTLs detected on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 12, log-likelihood values ranging from 2.64 4.76. These account 3.34% 12.02% phenotypic variance explained. Three QTLs, qCtb1, qCtb5 qCtb12, repeatedly conditions, they considered stably expressed QTLs. localized chromosome 5 marker between CMB0526.3 ID5014265. In this interval or nearby, many cold-resistance have been identified previous studies, so major cold-tolerance QTL. Thirteen environmental interactions also detected, single environment all found be involved interactions. results show that significant effect rice. Stable expression will help fine mapping genes provide gene resources cultivate varieties.

Mapping QTLs for cold tolerance at germination and the early seedling stage in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Cold tolerance is an important breeding target in rice production. We studied quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling cold tolerance at germination (CTG) and early seedling (CTS) stages, using recombinant inbred lines derived from a japonica × indica cross. CTG was evaluated based on the percentage rate of germination at 15 °C for 12 days after pre-incubation of imbibed seeds at 20 °C for 2 ...
متن کاملMapping QTLs for Physiological Traits Associated with Drought Tolerance in Rice (Oryza Sativa L.)
Drought is the most important limiting factor for crop production and it is becoming an increasingly severe problem in many regions of the world [1]. According to FAO statistics, the percentage of drought affected land areas more than doubled from the 1970s to the early 2000s in the world [2]. Drought is a world-spread problem seriously influencing grain production and quality and with increasi...
متن کاملIdentification of QTLs for new formed root architectural traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) after transplantation
Transplanting has been the most widespread planting technique for rice production in Asia. It is estimated that more than 85% of rice production in china, and almost 100% in Northeast China adopted transplanting. The healthy and vigorous seeding can reduce thetransplanting shock’ and is the most important for final yield formation. The large root diameter, long root length, large surface area a...
متن کاملGenetic Analysis of Cold Tolerance at the Germination and Booting Stages in Rice by Association Mapping
Low temperature affects the rice plants at all stages of growth. It can cause severe seedling injury and male sterility resulting in severe yield losses. Using a mini core collection of 174 Chinese rice accessions and 273 SSR markers we investigated cold tolerance at the germination and booting stages, as well as the underlying genetic bases, by association mapping. Two distinct populations, co...
متن کاملIdentification of QTLs and possible candidate genes conferring sheath blight resistance in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Sheath blight, caused by the pathogenic fungus Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, is one of the most devastating diseases in rice. Breeders have always faced challenges in acquiring reliable and absolute resistance to this disease in existing rice germplasm. In this context, 40 rice germplasm including eight wild, four landraces, twenty- six cultivated and two advanced breeding lines were screened utiliz...
